Feeling fancy is an ingredient of Having a Rich Life. When delving into what feels rich to me I ask myself- "What feels fancy?" Then I do it. Here are some examples.

mLiving near water feels fancy to me, our house is not on the water, it is in the mountains (also fancy). We've added this ingredient of fanciness by building a pond and a waterfall, also we frequently drive to the coast or the river.
I buy extra seeds in the summer and grow fresh herbs in my kitchen window box all winter long.
Tan legs look elegant but are so hard for my to attain as most of my time in the sun I am vertical. With my active outdoorsy lifestyle my shins are some combination of bruised and scraped at all times, so a tan is good for disguising all but the most egregious wounds. I use self-tanner, full-stop.
I haven't addressed the showerhead yet, but it's on the todo list.
For years I have associated long fireplace matches with romance. I'm not sure why probably the movies. The other day I bought some. They're $3.49. Compared to the per use price of a lighter or Diamond matches I guess they're a bit more expensive but nothing like I expected. So for under four dollars I have a 'fancy' that I've always wanted. I put then in a wide-mouthed jar, picturesque. I'll use them outside in the summer for grilling too.
Neither our house nor our cars are big and fancy, however we own them. Ownership feels pretty fancy.
Things and Things is an earlier post about things in my life that DO NOT feel rich or fancy.
