The Paper-white bulbs on my dinning table are poised to flower as February begins. Slightly behind then are my mother-in-law's candle holders and her silver-rose shaped candle snuffer, a salt bowl and pepper grinder, and light blue cloth napkins.
My Sweet-Loving-Man (SLM) teases me that every surface must look like a still-life and I nod, Yes. Every surface should look like a still-life. These are some of the little details that make my life feel rich.
When I imagine 'If I were rich in the conventional sense, what would my home look like'? Little details are what I come up with.
My home would always be clean enough that someone could call and say they're swinging by for a visit in five minutes and all I would have to do to be ready is put on a pot of coffee.
I would have clear surfaces, rather than piles of things on my tables and counters.
My home will be comfortable and welcoming with a pleasant seating area, warm(or cool depending upon the season) and smell nice.
Artwork, potted plants and flowers. Sun-light. Everything has its place and there is a place for everything.
This is what I imagine "rich-folks" have in their home. I set about creating this in my way.
In a 750 square foot house about 20 minutes of cleaning and organizing every morning does the job of keeping the little details in place.
